Violett   > E-mail this page An idealist from the Midwest, Lynn Sackler nee Lungren came to New York City after graduating Mount Holyoke College and had to take secretarial courses so she could get a job at a television network (the path for most women). After a stint as the only woman director at ABC Radio, she snagged a coveted, but low-paying job as a Production Assistant on Omnibus. She was so happy to be on her own in New York City, working in live television that she was content to be a Production Assistant for years. She left television and New York to have a life and eventually a family in Europe with a writer/director. Filmmaker Molly Sackler grew up in a household that orbited around her father’s work and only recently realized her mother Lynn had been a working woman for a decade.
